every year i attend an event on a friend's farm known as the winter solstice. it is a celebration of the longest night of the year (shortest day) and consists of a potluck from all across MO, drinks which include spiced wine, cold beer and even moonshine along with a gigantic bonfire we all stand around in an attempt to keep warm. it's one of the best nights we share together and it has become a family tradition. tonight's the night for celebrating and this year my sister Jackie (who hasn't been back home for the winter festivities in about five or so years) is attending. sa'lue' to all!
